Review: Kinky but Cute Custom Flogger

Kinky but Cute is an Etsy store that makes floggers. Several kinds of floggers- large, small, cotton, silk, hemp, beaded, or unbeaded. Their silk is ethically sourced, their hemp cord floggers vegan friendly, and all floggers available in a number of colours, or in a huge variety of custom colours for a little extra.

I ordered a custom flogger in the colours of the trans pride flag, which was £14. It has an 4″ handle and 12″ falls with knotted ends, is standard sized, and is made from waxed cotton cord. My experience ordering a custom flogger from Kinky but Cute was excellent- the owner sent me pictures of different colour shades to make sure they picked ones that matched my vision, and was incredibly good at communication throughout my order.

Before I go on with this review, I’d like to implore beginners to flogging to read this guide from Uberkinky. Flogging has safety issues, and it’s important to be aware of these and to practise using a flogger before using one in a scene.

My flogger from Kinky but Cute is a very well balanced flogger, quite light in the hand. When hitting broadly with the bottom third of the falls, it doesn’t take much force to get some pain from it. It still takes some force to create a properly painful sting, but this means it can be very versatile in terms of sensation. When used more gently it’s half way between a thud and a sting, hitting with more force behind the motion creates something closer to a thud, and using it quickly and lightly creates a nice stinging sensation, as does snapping the tips as if throwing a wet towel.

It does take some force to create long lasting pain, and while I have been marked by its use, that’s always faded remarkably quickly. In general, I’d characterise this flogger as not taking much effort to make hurt, but taking a lot of deliberate effort to hurt too much. I’ve found this makes it an excellent flogger to introduce people to being a dom- even if they’re too cautious to hit me hard, I still get something out of it, and it’s difficult for them to hit too hard with it.

The cotton is easy to clean- you can simply wipe it down with warm soapy water, but don’t submerge it, or wipe it down with toy cleaner or wipes. You do need to let it dry properly after cleaning- hang it up in a well ventilated area and let it dry naturally.

Overall, I love my flogger from Kinky but Cute as a versatile flogger, one suitable for those just starting to explore flogging, or people who want a good general flogger. The colour options that Kinky but Cute offer are also fantastic, and my experience with a custom order form them was excellent. If you’re looking for a specific colour combination or theme for a flogger, I’d recommend sending them a message on Etsy. It’s probably not the right product for those used to harsher floggers, but I would say it’s excellent as an introductory flogger.
